Liz Wilson

Funeral Director

Liz Wilson is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana and received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Louisiana State University Shreveport, her Master of Social Work from Grambling State University, and Funeral Director’s Degree from Commonwealth Institute in Houston, Texas. She is passionate about education from a holistic point of view and has over 40 years in the death and dying industry. Her deep experience as a Hospice Social Worker, Bereavement Coordinator, Mental Health Social Worker, and Licensed Funeral Director prepared her well for owning and operating her family Mortuary, a vision guided by her strong faith.
At a very young age, she learned the value of educating others and being in tune with the fact that we are born to die. Her values propelled her to know and understand the needs of others, to be a good listener, and to stand no matter what you are going through.
Liz has a heart for children and understands that children grieve too. For the past 17 years, she has operated her non-profit organization - Youth Awareness Workshop Conference (YAWC) that focuses on educating and equipping children and families with the tools they need to navigate the challenges they face in today’s society.
Liz has 13 grandchildren whom she loves very much. Her philosophy that she instills in them and that guides her in the service industry, is that you MUST stand on your principles while also understanding others.

We MUST walk alongside families, and not before them to help others understand the process of life’s journey. You are not alone. We are here to support you.
